Creating & Moderating Skype Rooms

Skype rooms aka Skype Group chats are an area I have extensive knowledge about. You can read about how to get a Skype room here and how to have full control over your group chat.

Is Skype Room Moderation Not a Concern for MS/Skype?

This Skype Blog article on "Making Way" for New Skype, exlains how Skype room moderation is not a concern for MS/Skype. This needs Your attention please! It says "we are going to retire older versions of Skype for Windows desktop (6.13 and below) as well as Skype for Mac (6.14 and below) over the next few months." Skype Room

This Harms Skype Room Moderation

Why do you plan to harm our Skype room moderation functions which only work with Skype 6.1 and below? Shana, the skype employee responding there on that post, is selectively not responding to comments or leaving some of our comments awaiting moderation for weeks! Please do not censor us here! We skype room moderators and owners need a Voice to be Heard by Skype!

Skype Room Moderation Works Only with Skype Versions Below 6.3

Here is my comment. We need to be able to moderate group skype chat rooms and can not with current Skype. Shana's reply was odd. But I did my best to respond and explain why we need to moderate Skype room group chats here. You will not yet see some people's reply to my comment as it is awaiting moderation... so some of us made online screen shots so you can read them. This has been waiting moderation for 5+ days (she echoed my comment also) and asks...

When Will Skype Room Moderation Be Returned?

This Skype room moderator has kept order in dozens of Skype rooms with 300 members and she wants Skype to allow us to moderate Skype rooms with old versions or fix what you broke!

Skype Hackers and Pirates Must Be Stopped with Old Skype Versions

I quote from a Skype chat posted by one of my Skype group chat moderators; "Absolutely. The other week we had pirates enter several of our chat rooms. They changed the names and chat image (where they could), and started sending messages that were not appropriate. For instance they added a long line of text 38 times! Without master role I would not have been able to
  • remove those texts and
  • kick and ban these kids
The same kids showed up in several other rooms Iím a mod in and with the help of others we removed and kicked. " we need old Skype version to be able to use the /kickban command or to be able to edit or remove inappropriate members messages!

Please consider the Ramifications of Not Having Control Please Support Early Skype Version 6 to Allow Group Chat Moderator!

Please consider the Ramifications of Not Having Control Please Support Early Skype Version 6 to Allow Group Chat Moderator! Please consider the ramifications of not having control as is prominent currently (ONLY) with older versions. Moderation of Skype chat rooms for groups is possible only with Skype 6.1 and earlier. We need to have control ... to best educate others in the groups and to remove any unwanted banter or comments within the stated guidelines of the group organization. I quote for the "anti" Skype Upgrades blog post here; "Please support to the earliest possible version which allows for setting (master) mods for groups so we can function... We are all for making improvements but not at the cost of diminished control within group settings, please support to the earliest possible version which allows for setting (master) mods for groups so we can function as we have previously. Remember how bugs appear in any new system upgrades and allow for a hefty leeway to full functionality of these new upgrades with the older versions to be backups....

Voice your opinion, speak up NOW before it is TOO LATE, leave your viewpoint TODAY!"

Skype 6.0 and Skype 6.1 still allow Skype Group chat creators and Moderators to control their Skype rooms. Can we please keep these? Please leave replies here on the Skype Community Forum to let Skype/MS know we need to use old Skype versions and need to be able to moderate our Skype room (s)... your thoughts?
