What can I say – I’m a little slow. I eventually realized that maybe it was up to me. Me? Hmmm. Where to start? How do I learn to market something?

So in 2003, I got online and learned, you guessed it, “Internet Marketing” and I also found an outlet for something I love to do. I love to build community. And I love to be of service to people, to connect with people all around the world!

The first thing I came across was contact list building and communications tools like Aweber Email Marketing and Skype and blogs. I discovered the joy of having a constant flow of people from all over the world coming to me to learn how to build a list for their business, that is, build a contact list or network lists and an endless flow of new prospects or customers (aka a database).

Thus I started my journey of becoming a “List Building, Online Marketing and Skype Coach“! I always dreamed of helping, serving and teaching people all over the world. This is very fulfilling to me and as it turns out, I am a natural nurturing leader. That was back in early 2003 and its been building ever since.

A Job vs Internet Marketing Freedom

In 2008, I lowered the prices on the above list building services and took a 2 year break for perspective. I wanted to break my online all day habit and so …get this, I got a JOB to limit my time on the internet! I loved it. I cooked at a vegetarian restaurant. Funny, huh? Most people are trying to use the internet to make money and be free of their job! Not me. I needed a break from helping people. So, I worked full time and loved it. Whats odd though, is that after I pulled away, it was then that I started to be considered by others as a Skype expert.

Also, in 2008 I became the first trainer for a Skype Empowering Software called Message Magic. My philosophy is to learn to use Skype with proper Skype ettiquette first, before using Message Magic, to build a relationship with the people on your Skype list, build connections with your contacts, add value, give first. Recently I like to say, “Contribute to the conversation” on Social Media. Do not advertise to them. That is not what Skype is for. We call blasting marketing messages on Skype as Skype Spam. Trust me, doing it the right way works much much better! Learn how to have people come after you in Skype rather then you being the hunter, be the hunted.
