Bonus Tip #1:
How to Close a Skype Chat Room Without Leaving – Business Networking Skype Tip
Skype Public Chat Rooms are open 24/7, so you will see messages in there around the clock. This is the beauty of these chat rooms. You will almost always find someone in there, and even while you are offline, the messages will stay, and you can read them when you go back on line. If you want to close the chat room, but remain a member in there, you must close it and not leave it. By clicking the X in the upper right hand corner, you will close it. If you want to leave the room permanently, you can do that by clicking the exit door with the man leaving the the room – a green square also in the upper right hand corner…next to the door click the text .
Bonus Tip #2:
When you are a member in many Skype Rooms, it can become very distracting when they flash in the bottom of your screen while you are trying to work. One is always tempted to read these as they come in, and it is also a time waster if you are busy working. There is a way to eliminate this, by changing your status to Do Not Disturb. Close any of the chats that you don’t want to read immediately, and they will not pop up. You will not loose the text in there, as they will be stored in your events. When you are ready to read what was posted in the rooms, open your main Skype window and you can click on the chat you want to read listed under new events with a red flag next to it. Bonus Tip #4:
Make Your Profile Personal to gain trust of new contacts:
First and foremost, as soon as you have installed Skype, you must set up your PROFILE. It is very important to give as much information you can about yourself and your business. there is a 200 character limit – which includes spaces – for your text. You can add a link to your website or blog in the space provided. Bear in mind that this is the window to your business that you want to present to people who visit your profile. To get to your profile, go to your main Skype window, click on File then choose Edit your Profile.
