Many people are contacting us about the Skype Hacker/File sending virus and also the new, Skype v4.0 which we have blog posts about. So we made a new Skype Room to gather a Skype support community for these issues. Join from that link but do take time with this post. These 2 topics ( 1. Skype Virus/ Hacker and 2. Skype upgrade 4.0 / downgrade 3.8 recommended) … these two topics are  related. While some people have actually got their account back from Skype after losing it to the hacker, many just open a new Skype account and try to find all their contacts again. Thus downloading the new 4.0 Skype and the having the trouble of not having all the old features, especially those friendly to Skype rooms. So we help them get their 3.8 back.

You are Invited to Join this Skype Community

If you need help with these two topics or can give help you are invited to join this new Skype room. There are people in there who have experience either one of these, and some even both. They are willing to help you solve your problems. Even if you have not had the experience of the Skype File sending Virus, it is a good thing to learn more about it in case you fall victum to it in the future – after all – fore-warned is fore-armed so you could prevent it. Prevention is better cure!!

And here are a few things I am asking member of this room as well as room hosts to help new members of the room with.  This posts’s link will be at the top of the room also (visable only to those with Skype version 3.8 or under, not Skype 4.0 at least not right now).

1. Please add your experience with these issues both in the Skype room and at those two blog posts  as a reply  or comment. It helps to know what others are experiencing and also so we know what help you may still need.
2. Check out the post for Skype Upgrade  Skype v4.0 how to get 3.8 back again. And others are in the room to help you write Skype about gettig the full features up and runnig on new upgrades of Skype.
3. If you are on Skype 4.0 you will need to be added to the room by other members of the room. (We want to train hosts how to add people. Or you can support people in pm how to down grade first when join the room)
4. You can help new members by ivitig them to watch the Skype File sending Virus Video(s) and read the post and comments ad leave a comment too.
5. If you lost your Skype account, just keep writting Skype support, you get your account back, Marj and Sue both did and they are both hosts in this new room, ask them. Just keep telling Skype.
6. Bookmarking a room: Show people who are added how to book mark the room. If they can downgrade to 3.8 they can join with the link. But if they are Added by someone else, they will have to book mark this room to find it again. In the room, see the two little arrows just to the left of the green Leave door (upper right)… its for Book marking a room. >> [_] Leave … the double arrows by the  green  ” Leave” door.
7. How to get chatting rights in the room. Go here to read the Skype room Guidelines. Basically, to get and retain your chatting rights in any of my Skype rooms you need to text Hyla (hymagw) and or I (juliewolf) and text us which room you are in or want to get chatting rights in and that you have “read and agreed with the Skype Room Guidelines, (no ads, no harvesting contacts, etc). The room is set to no permission needed at time of publishing this – so hosts need to maintain the room – remove messages,  remove abusers after warnings, keep the room on topic, etc ).
