I am very excited to see every one today at the Skype Tips  and Message Magic Webinars today. Sadly though any one who wants in my Focus Group HC Room (Hot Conference Room), will get an error message unless they take action. Here is why, what & how you can be ready ….

HC Moved – New Address to Enter Rooms – Instructions

We have to apologize for the inconvenience caused by this move of the hot conference servers. Just like changing a physical address when you move from one location to another, with this virtual move there have been changes in IP address as well.

With the move of the HotConference servers, you may have difficulty getting back into the conference center. Try the method below:

Windows XP:

1. If you have and wish to keep your existing room list, you will need to backup the conference.db file located in c:program files conference folder.
2. Uninstall HotConference from “Add or Remove Programs” in your windows Control Panel by selecting the”Audio/Video Conference” option in the dialog box.
3. Delete the following folder if it still exists: C:Program Files Conference.
4. Delete any icons and archives of HotConference you might have on your desktop.
5. Reboot your PC, Broadband modem and router (if you have one).
6. Exit any firewall or anti-virus applications that are running. (you can turn them back on after this testing).
7. Download Conference.exe from your download link. Here is my Focus Group HC link.
8. Once the software is properly reinstalled, you can copy the conference.db back into the c:program files conference folder.

Windows Vista:

1. If you have and wish to keep your existing room list, you will need to backup the conference.db file located in c:program filesconference folder.
2. Uninstall HotConference from “Programs and Features” in your windows Control Panel by selecting the “Audio/Video Conference” option in the dialog box.
3. Delete the following folder if it still exists: C:Program FilesConference.
4. Delete any icons and archives of HotConference you might have on your desktop.
5. Reboot your PC, Broadband modem and router (if you have one).
6. Exit any firewall or anti-virus applications that are running. (you can turn them back on after this testing).
7. Download Conference.exe from your download link. Here is my Focus Group HC link.
8. Save it to your Desktop (or a folder you will remember). Right-click on the Conference.exe file.
9. Select “Run as Administrator” from the options list.
10. A pop-up box should appear requesting you click “Continue”; click “Continue.”

How to Get In My New Focus Group Room

Get a new link to the conference room from the website,  here is my Focus Group HC Room and install it brand new then, open the room to ensure the installation went smoothly. do this now… webinar starts in an hour and again in 7 hrs… and Skype Tips and open Q& A all day.

Remember to replace the database file – delete the new one then return the backed up file and rename it conference.db .  If you use the Add or Remove programs rather than just deleting the files manually, the database file will have to be moved and then moved back.
