Need A Skype Room aka Skype Chat Room?

On the current version of Skype, it is no longer possible to make a Public Skype chat room from a menu that we had prior to v3.8. As of Skype v4 and Skype 5, the menu choices (Group vs Public Skype room aka Skype chat) are gone. You can still make Group Skype rooms, but you will not have the control of being a Skype Room owner or Creator. The good news – I can still make a Public Skype chat rooms for you (or show you how – ask for my Skype video series).

Whats the difference between a Group and Public Skype Chat Room?

Lets compare a Public vs a Group Skype Chat room. Some things you can have with a Public Skype chat room that are not possible with a group Skype chat room are :

• Pubic Skype Rooms List You As the Creator of the Skype Room in the Profile – Group Rooms Do Not Name You Creator
• Pubic Skype Rooms Have a Join Chat Link “Copy Link to Clipboard” Button in the Skype Room Profile – Group Skype Chat Rooms do not
• Pubic Skype Rooms Allow you to Lock Topic and Picture So Only You Can Change it, ANYONE can change your topic or pic in a “lowly” Group Skype Room
• Pubic Skype Rooms Can Have Guidelines, aka Room Rules and Resources INSIDE your chat room: Examples – Welcome Message, Purpose and Rules of Your Chat Room, Resource Links to Your Websites and Videos, and Your Training or Meeting Schedules, etc – make your room valuable enough to charge for membership!
• You Control if you want and who you want to be your room moderator hosts, helpers and can approve who can read only or read and write and when with a Pubic Skype Room, not so with Group Skype Rooms
• You can turn a room off and on when you are the creator of a Pubic Skype Rooms – Allow posting on your topic on scheduled days
• Joining Permissions: Joining allowed or not, members can – Read, Write, Neither, Either
• Removing Members: You and Your assigned Room Moderators can Kick or Kick and Ban people from your Pubic Skype Rooms – not so with Group Rooms
• In Pubic Skype Rooms you can Set Member Roles such as Hosts, Helper, User, Listener, Applicant (learn commands, I set up for you, or automate with a room bot based on SQL membership level)

• Your Preferred Joining Permissions: Can Joiners Read and Write, Read Only or Not Read or Write Until you approve them?
