If your Skype automatically updates, there maybe some Skype programs, like xSky that will not work. The newest version of Skype does not support the Extras Manager. So here is how to get your xSky working again….

How to fix this Skype Extras Problem to Make your xSky work?

Do this.

• Download this version instead.
• BEFORE you press “Next” when you open the installer, press Options.
• Make sure that Extras Manager is checked.
• Remember this when ever Skype automaticaly updates…
• You can not choose Extras Manager option from the newest versions of Skype!!!

Update: Skype automatically upgrades me

It did it again! Skype automatically upgrades me again. I used to have a choice. Ok here is the page Jeff put together with the above directions and pictures and even an experimental solution that has you register Skype4Com and the Extras Manager, and this allows you to keep the latest Skype upgrade. Click here for that. But if that doesn’t work, then downgrade to Slype 5.3.0.116, choose options and check Extras Manager. Also make a desktop short cut to login to your Skype. This worked for me, stopped the auto upgrade and allows me to run xSky again.
