People like to be called by their real names on Skype (even if they do not use them – go figure!). It’s a good way to build trust, rapport with new relationships. Here is a question I got about using Skype and Message Magic to address your new contacts on Skype by their firstname correctly. Note: upgraded Members of Message Magic can use this firstname tag when communicating with many new people at once, or when adding many new Skype contacts at once.
Question:
” Oh, another question, when I send out messages after I’ve gathered new Skype contacts in Message Magic, do I just use the {FIRSTNAME} when addressing them right off the bat or what because I remember you saying to get their real names first before using that tag. “
Answer:
The way you use {FIRSTNAME} with Message Magic, would either be after you know their real names and renamed these Skype contacts or if you want to ask them in the first message you send while adding them, and sending a text chat message (use both under the message box in Message Magic for 1st contact)…. then you can ask them for their real name something like this…
Sample Message:
Lets connect and chat about ____ (search pattern term)___ … what do I call you, {FIRSTNAME} or some thing else?
This or something like that works out pretty good to get the process started knowing their name… if they ARE going to respond. Rename them as needed and move them to the best Skype Contact Group
