Ready to start?
First, bookmark this and return here often as you begin to learn how Message Magic works. You can also print this to refer to while working with the software on your computer. Read on.
Message Magic Software (remember to scroll right & left to see all buttons on your monitor). For product Info & income Opportunity video click anywhere on this image:
Here are the buttons –
I will list them by section – left side, right, middle – and in the order that you will want to use them to start with. Play with each one in your computer as you read about it here. Note you do need Skype first and we have a videos and screen shots to help you link the two: you need to give Skype permission to access your MM software. (link to those coming here soon). Visit my Skype site to learn about Skype, get my Skype Tips and get the free Skype download here. Open your Message Magic Software now and start playing with each button and feature as you read about it here. Now, to the buttons …
Left Side:
Add Button STEP 1 – Enter a Search Pattern of 3 characters minimum and click Add. This will add the Search Pattern (or your keywords) to the window above the button. You can not do a search with out Adding a search pattern first. You can add as many Search Patterns as you want.
Search Button After entering or loading one or more Search Patterns, press Search for the software to go look for users that match your Search Patterns. If/when it finds matches the usernames will be displayed in the Users window.
Save Patterns Button This button brings up a Save-As window to allow you to save your patterns as a .csv file. If you have a list of patterns showing up in the Search Patterns window you can save that list in a file. Just click the Save to File button and chose what to name it.This is useful for re loading your search patterns into Message Magic again later to find new Skype Users.
Load Patterns Button If you have a .csv file containing rows of Search Patterns click Load From File to bring those Search Patterns in to the window above the button. The file should be a standard text file which contains one pattern per row. There is no need for commas.
Clear Patterns Button This button is for after you enter or load one or more Search Patterns, press Clear Patters to clear Search results from the window to start over.
Advanced Search Button This button opens a new window that allows you to search by Country, State, City, Language (very interesting), Gender, Age and/or users on SkypeMe! mode and allows you to search a keyword in their Skype Profile.
Right side (scroll right):
- Select All Button This button puts a check mark beside all Users found in the middle box after a search. This is very useful if you want to either add the selected Users as contacts or broadcast a message to them.
Select All Online Button This button should be used if you are only interested in searching for users that are currently online. This option has very limited value but you may find it useful.
Unselect All Button This simply removed the checkmark beside all Users.
Load Users Button (Users found by MM) This button is useful when you have a .csv file containing rows of Skype Usernames from Saving Users, click this to load from a file to bring those Users in to the Users window. The file should be a standard text file which contains one username per row. There is no need for commas.
Save Users Button This button is used when you have a list of Users showing up in the middle Users window. You can save that list in a file. Just click the Save Users button and choose what to name it. You may have done a search for a particular key word(s) patterns and want to save the resulting list of Users that you can load at a later time.
Load Contact Button (Your Skype Contacts) This button is used to load all your personal Skype contacts in to the Users window so you can select the ones you want to send a broadcast message. If you have your Skype Contact Groups enabled you will be asked which groups you want to include. Contact Groups is how you build targeted lists in Skype. Check out the video on Enabling & Building Your Contact Groups here.
Message Box & Buttons – right side
- Message Text box This area is where you write the message you want to broadcast. There are two ways to broadcast a message: 1) When you Add Contacts, and 2) by clicking the Send Message button. Use both with the same or similar message so you and your new contact can have a history of what you sent so you can chat about it and also do more targeted relevant follow up. This also lets you know if the messages went through. You can read your message in chat history if you also use Send Message, but not so if you only send a message with Add Contact.
Add Contact Button This button is one of the two most important and powerful features of MessageMagic. Once you have a list of Users showing up in the Users window, and you have a checkmark beside the ones you want to target, and have some sort of introductory message in the Message Text window, press Add Contacts. This will add them as pending contacts, they will show up in your main Skype Contact list with a (?) question mark to the left of their name, AND they will get your custom broadcast message. Once they confirm your request they become a new authentic contact of yours. Add them to the appropriate contact group in Skype (ask for the video) to make contact groups). The key here is that you have a good introductory message they find interesting or compelling enough to add you as a contact. DO send them a broadcast message also so you can have that in your chat history with them and do your follow up. Send Message is how you do that.
Send Message Button After you have a list of users, some with a check mark beside them, and your text message in the Message window, click this button to broadcast your message out to the list.
Upper left – Search Box
- Search Pattern This column shows you the search patterns you have added or loaded.
- Count This column shows you the number found so far.
Middle box -Messaging
- User This column shows the user names of the Skype users found.
- Full Name (scroll left inside box in your software) This column shows you the persons Full Name as it appears on their Skype Profile. Make sure YOURS is filled in with your real fist and last name so people can see you are a real person.
- Display Name This column shows the name that the Skype Users display
- Status This column tells you their online status, usually shows offline if you are not connected with them. Yes they will get your messages when ever they and you are both online even if they are really offline.
Bottom Box:
- Log Text Box (un-named ) – reports what the software is doing as it does it.
That’s it, you’re done! Easy, wasn’t it? By the way, just so you know, if a person has their privacy setting checked to NOT receive messages from people not on their contact list then they will never get your message. This is the cleanest and simplest form of unsolicited message filtering available on the internet , better then email!
