Skype 3.8 Unblocking Skype Contacts without Permission

Someone just asked me why her blocked Skype contacts where no longer blocked when  logging into their Skype from another machine, a  barrowed pc. Note: They also dowloaded old Skype version 3.8 just to see if it still works. At first I thought it was because some data is stored on the machine. I have witenessed missing text chats when switching to another computer. But turns out that was not the reason. “Blocked contacts are stored on servers, like the contact list. So contacts should remain blocked when using a new machine, even with 3.8. But that’s now a very old client, something might be broken.”, one Skype engineer tells me.
Question: Why were blocked Skype contacts no longer blocked?
Answer:  Using an old Skype version 3.8 was the cause according to one Skype Consultant/Skype Betatester.  This effect has been seen on several occations of using old Skype version 3.8. If this happens to you, see what happens to those contacts when you upgrade.

So contacts should remain blocked when using a new machine.  But 3.8 is now a very old client, so something might be broken, is what one Skype engineer tells me.
