Skype Take-Over Hackings

I have seen about four (4) Skype take overs aka hackings this week and 3 of them were recovered to thier rightful owners. Later this week, Hyla will tell you her story and make suggestions. I helped her get her account back using live chat Skype support, while Hyla was on a 2nd Skype account, and chatting with both of them.

Today I saw that the last 2 hacked accounts sent me suspicious files. If you get files from someone you know, but that you did not expect, be sure to cancel them.   You do have to open the event to cancle them, but just be careful not accept them and to use the cancle button.  (see videos below) This may not be a problem with the newer versions of Skype anymore.  Although Russ here has version 4.x.

[8:27:34 AM] Russ says: I had to change the password of my skype log in was the bottom line

[8:27:56 AM] Russ says: let me tell you how I was hacked.

[8:30:39 AM] Russ  says: I was talking to this person on skype on Sunday night that I did not know from adam. All of sudden the skype was turn off I was able to log in again and few minutes later it happen again. I could not remember the email that I use to sign up in skype.

[8:33:43 AM] Russ  says: Then I start to talk to the same person who I was talking to Sunday night and the exactly the same thing happen.  I can prove it but I think he was the one who hacked my skype both times.
