Build Connections on Skype, Build & Manage a Contact List Web 2.0 Style

What Is Introduce Yourself Day

In my Skype rooms, you will be invited to a New activity on Mondays only, at 5 am and 5 pm PST, as well as all day Monday worldwide called….

Introduce Myself Mondays

Introduce Myself Monday is an activity for my Skype Tips Room members as well as other Skype chat rooms I have. It is a chance to network all together. Here Diana explains all about Intro Monday  too.

New Meeting Times:

We will meet two times on USA Monday: 5 am and 5 pm PST.  If you want to know what time
that is in your time zone check this cool site:
http://www.agreeadate.com/time_zone_planner.aspx … for as long as people want to chat… as some will come late due to worldwide location and schedules.

These are the times I will try to be in the room, but you are not restricted to these time to post your introduction, or to comment on and discuss other people’s intros with them.

Want a  Reminder?

Do you want a reminder with link to make it easy to enter or to contact us to add you? If you do please Skype  myself, juliewolf, or Hyla , skype id: hymagw and let us know. We will send you a pm (private message) when it is time to start. Come late if you need to, its all day worldwide. We hope these times get more of us all together to meet.

It is a chance to talk about yourself, your abilities to help and your needs to receive help, as well as your links about you and your online activities, sites, businesses, income opportunities and we encourage “About Me” type sites like your blogs, web 2.0 profiles like Myspace, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube, Ning, Zenzuu, etc… so people can get to know you in my Skype room. So you can build trust … practice relationship networking.

It is also a chance to show newbie Internet Marketers how to truly network instead of promote … or like Carol Deckert says how to “tell not sell” or how I have always coached list building methods to “lead with the relationship, not the sale”. In other words, it is a chance to learn and practice relationship & permission marketing or networking. This is the chat room rule, not promoting. Network and let people get to know you and you get to know them, make friends, build connections, instead of spamming. Promote without spamming. We can show you how.

News Update : We have a special room for this now which is open only on Mondays – globally – and only for this purpose.  You  enter on Your Monday, and stay there until the end of Monday worldwide. All the people in all my rooms are invited  but only the first 100 or so who come in will fit. This is why we will close the room at the end of global Monday, and only re-open it the next week. If you come too late, then you have to wait until next time.  Here are the new room Guidelines.

New Room Guidelines:

* This room is ONLY for those who have chatting rights in my other Skype rooms.

* Only the first 100 – 150 will be able to enter each week. We will send the link out with an invitation every week, and if there are people who have Skype v4.0 who cannot join with the link, please contact a host in one of my rooms asking them to add you to the Introduce Myself Monday Room

* No Ads.

* No harvesting or collecting contacts without their permission.

*  Read each other’s Intros

* Only contact people you have built a connection a relationship with and who you have a common interest with.

* Build the relationship there In the room first – chat with each other about your Intro s.

* Be Friendly!

* You must let us know in the room  that you have read the above and agree.

Thanks and have fun Mondays there in the new room!

  8. Hi Julie,
I read the terms & conditions I agree now why is Pluto not a Planet anymore?

  9. Hi Julie,

I read the terms and conditions and agree. I’m just stopping in to say “Hi”!

  10. Hi! I am very pleased to be here to meet new people and learn more about the internet. I want to get to know people from all over the world and this is a wonderful place to do just that. Thank you Julie. I love all of your skype sites and all the training and help you give so many of us. You are great and so are all the people that are with you on these sites. I agree to the terms and conditions here. Thank you again for the invite and I will honor it and enjoy this site to the fullest.

  11. Hi Julie,
I just got done with my intro and agree to the terms and conditions here. Hope you enjoy.

  12. I am so new to all of this I really have no idea. I think it is nice to get to know the other people who are in MM. This seems like a perfect format to do that.
I have never joined any chat groups or social networking groups on line before. So, I hope this exceeds any expectations I might have regarding this kind of communication.

  13. Survey Answer:
Do you all want a place where you can read each others intros… and do not have to wade through all the chit chat?
Yes because i like to read and learn about others.

Do you want the chit chat here?
No, there are other rooms for that, but I like the idea to “discuss” an intro but maybe that’ll end up in chit chat again.

Do you want to learn to network here?
No, rather have a network room.

Julie asked if keywords are highlighted on Mac: YES!!!

  14. Survey Answer
    Hi Julie,
I think a combination of ideas 2 and 3 would work very well.
An alternative might be to have a seperate Introductions Page and a seperate chat page.with a link from Intro. to chat. That way people who have not accepted the rules and entered their Intro can not get into the chat room.
It seems to me the Intro is compact whereas the chat rambles on and on over the hill and far away. LOL. Also you only need one Intro, when you enter the chatroom you just say who, where, what time, and your’e ready to chat, you could have a link back to Intro. to refresh Members details.

  15. Hello to All

What an awesome idea this is…

I’ve been getting a tonne of Skype spam and I’ve been totally turned off to online marketing.

I want relationships with people. And, I’ve met lots of wonderful people in these rooms. Don’t understand why it’s so hard for people to get it… You’d not walk up to a stranger on the street and say (basically) “buy my stuff”…. why on earth would anyone do it online.

You’ve opened up a fabulous venue for us to really get to “know, like and trust” one another. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You Karen

  16. Thanks for creating the room, Julie.

The introduction room is a great idea- and so is networking and getting to know one another, but it would be nice not to have to scroll thru the chitchat to see the intros. Maybe if folks put a keyword like INTRO we could do a search for just the intros.

  17. ok

We got feed back that the Monday Networking Skype room was so full of networking chit chat that they – the feedbacker, could not read the intros … sooo I want all your feed back on that idea.

    Survey Question:

Do you all want a place where you can read each others intros… with out having to “wade through all the chit chat”?

Do you want the chit chat in the Monday Networking Room?

Do you want to learn to network there by practicing with others- some new and some master networkers?

Please leave a comment here and come chat with us about it in the Monday Skype room also – read about that above or here : http://incomeassurance.com/blog/what-is-introduce-yourself-day .

    PS

    idea #1:

Add your Intro and look through all the INTROS here
    http://incomeassurance.com/blog/skype-tips-room-guidelines-activities-benefits at the bottom

    idea #2:

if we all start our intros with ” INTRO: ” or “MY INTRO” … then it will be easy to search and find them all for either today, this week, or this month or even this chat… ask me how if you do not know

Ask for the Skype Tip about how to do a search in a Skype chat. Ask for the Skype Tip in one of the Skype rooms (or a pm if you are not in a Skype Tip room)… thanks

    idea #3:

set your Skype Room notification to that word INTRO or intro so it is easy to see. it will be highlighted.. usually in yellow … alt least in pcs… perhaps Mac users can tell us how that works for them.

this last idea (#3) works well with IDEA #2 … with searches. That is a Skype Tip… shall I add how to do that…. in the Skype Tips rooms you are in? Ask for the Skype Tip about how to set your chat notifications in a Skype chat. Ask for the Skype Tip in one of the Skype rooms (or a pm if you are not in a Skype Tip room)… thanks

The more we do things together in rooms and web 2.o social networking sites, the more all of us will benefit by the learning.

To respond to Survey Questions in the Skype rooms, please answer the Survey starting with … Survey Answer: … and tell me what you think. It may also help if you copy and paste the Survey Question as well… perhaps give the link to it so others can find this here… if thats not too much for you that is.

    Shall we discuss it Mondays?

  18. This explains everything very well. I agree with the guidelines.

Will get an intro written this week and post next week with links to my sites.

I think this room should be just for intros!

  19. Hi Julie! I’m responding to your survey as requested in your Skype Room:

    Survey Question:

Do you all want a place where you can read each others intros… and do not have to wade through all the chit chat?

My thoughts are that if you provide a special place for Intros, people will forget to go there and read them. Even though it is cumbersome to have it among the “chit-chat,” people DO read them if they fall into the reading path. So my vote would be to keep it among the conversations. In addition, intros are good conversation starters!

Do you want the chit chat here? I believe a certain amount of “chit-chat” is necessary in order to begin the relationship process. You have to determine who you want to get to know better – that way you are networking more efficiently. There is no reason to get to know someone that you have absolutely no interest in what they are doing.

Do you want to learn to network here? If you are doing introductions, you are starting the network process. Why not help each other by learning to network, sharing tips and ideas on building your business by word-of-mouth and better yet, by netweaving! Want to know more about netweaving? Contact me privately and/or read more on my blog – http://www.runlancaster.com/blog where lots of netweaving and networking discussions take place!

Thanks again for this opportunity, Julie!

One tip I like to always start off with is to PLEASE USE YOUR FULL NAME when participating in forums. It is impossible to get to know, like and trust someone who is hiding behind a user name! Want more tips like this one, join us in Julie’s Skype Rooms!

Thanks again for inviting me to join!

  21. It is always about the people, never about the program.

  22. Love & Light & Hugs & Kisses to all… I meant.

  23. Thanks every one for the feedback here that you appreciate this New Skype room and opportunity to learn to network.

Donna Allen… I see you need help. Ill Skype you, and look for your Skype to me in my many Skype events… and on Tuesdays. Remember Tuesdays is the day to catch me live… and be a squeaky wheel (wink).

Thanks Hyla for explaining the Chatherine P and for all to read about having an intro ready. And editing your intro as needed as time goes by. Cathy Baker… love and light… I like that. Get your chatting rights… add me as a Contact on Skype.

Ask Hyla or Melody if you do not know how. Or Skype me.

I guess I won’t cancel this room quite yet… you all have encouraged me so much!

Thanks! Hugs KIsses light and live to you all… Go Oneness World!

  24. Hi Julie and Hyla,
this is a great idea, you are teaching the art of relationship marketing right out of the starting gate. I hope our visitors realise that there are very few places online where you get this kind of help and for free. You are the best
I wish you well and Thank you for allowing me to be part of it
    Gerry Kenny

  25. Good day to everyone!

  26. Hi Catherine,

You are very welcome, and thanks for agreeing to the guidelines.

It is a very good idea to have a pre-written Introduction ready to post on Mondays. You can review it as time goes by and add any new information or delete old stuff. Your introduction will be very much the same each week so it will save you time if you have it done and saved where you can copy it from and paste into the room.

The link will be sent to all the people who qualify every week. To qualify you must have chatting rights in one or more of Julie’s Skype Rooms. You already qualified, so you have no problem.

To find a bookmarked chat open your main Skype window – where all your contacts are listed – and click on “Chats” In the window that opens you will see a few options – the last one is “Bookmarked Chats” If you want to see any recent chats (Even if they are not bookmarked) choose “Recent Chats”

I hope this answers your questions.

  27. Catherine Ploetz said:

Thank You for this, yes, I agree to these terms. So should we pre-write the Intro to type in a provided space next Mon? and will the link be sent to our E mail? Also , I have seen the bookmark option – used it though do not know where the bookmarked site is stored?

  28. Hello to all, I am learning as I go and excited about all this as well. It seems that here lately my favorite quote is almost overwhelmed.:))

    Hi All:

I am Tripudjo, from Jakarta Indonesia. You can call me Pudjo (PU JO).

I am joining the team because I am a newbie on online-home-business and internet marketing. I think this is a great idea and yes, building relationship is definitely the correct way, as I see it. I have to know more about it.

I am positive that I will and that I can get relevant information here and that I can get guidance on issues, which certainly would take me longer to comprehend should I study this alone by myself, as compared to hearing and reading about them in these sessions. Furthermore, we are all here together focusing on similar issues, regarding similar topics of interest.

Thanks for the opportunity to be a part of the group.

    See you all inside.

    Kindest Regards,
    Pudjo (aka JazzFreak).

  33. Hi I would like to introduce this webpage and get some feedback on how it comes across: http://excitingincome.ws. The other pages there also say largely what I am about.

  35. It’s a good way to practise. We all are in business and we all want to sell and make money. So we often forget that we need to build a relationship first. Or how many times have we bought from a stranger on impulse? I’m sure we have. I’m sure we have gotten impulsive customers but is it enough to build a buinsess?
Thanks Julie for this opportunity and all your efforts!

  36. I love this idea. It gives each member a chance to really shine and show who they are. Thanks for the opportunity!!!

  37. Great post Julie. A very good description of the “Introduce Yourself Day” it’s something that any room owner should consider doing to help promote relationships and netweaving.
